The Benefits of Meditating on God's Word

The Benefits of Meditating on God's Word

"Dear Lord, I humbly offer my prayers to you, seeking your divine guidance and blessings."

The phrase "the Lord hears my prayers" carries a profound meaning. By having genuine faith, one can connect with God, an intangible force, and request to be granted what they pray for. I believe, that it is not me who wills things into existence, but God who makes them happen.

Although this may seem like an easy thing to do, it can be challenging to accomplish in the fast-paced world we live in. As I read Psalms 1:2 which states: “But his delight is in the law of the Lord.  And in his law, he meditates day and night”. (NASB).  When I think of what is delightful to me, I enjoy things such as the best baked goods, or a warm cup of coffee with a good read.  But as a Christian who continues to learn to live as God intended, I get excited to read the bible.  I found that learning what the truth says helps me to learn more about life with Jesus.

As I meditate on God’s word and pray, I realize that faith is necessary for daily living. Although time doesn't matter to God, my prayers will be answered according to His time, season, and will. To start my day, I focus on God's truth, and I ask Him to guide me throughout the day. At night, before sleeping, I pray to continue feeling heard and validated by God.

Therefore, I would like to conclude by saying that when you pray to the Lord, don't lose hope thinking that God doesn't hear your prayers. Instead, I encourage you to continue to nourish yourself with the Word and stay hydrated with it. Set aside a few minutes every morning, while sipping your coffee, to read your favorite Bible verse to start your day. And as you wind down at night, read the same verse to let it rest upon your heart as you go to sleep.
